OLD WOMAN'S SITTING ROOM

This was an instillation piece for my Advanced Techniques assessment in January 2020. My aim and intention was to create a set that could tell a story. I wanted to create a character that could be developed through the use of set but also could be solidified with the use of the audience's imagination.
The audience was free to absorb and interpret exactly what they wanted through the space, were free to rummage through anything that they could find, sit in her chair, try her clothes on, open her handbag, have a nosey at her reminders, look through her bills and pictures, open all her tins, read her diary. This allowed me to explore the necessity of attention to detail and use of props and accessories to tell a narrative.
